Basic Rules
In 7 Handed Blackjack (European), each player is dealt two cards, one face up and one face down. The dealer is also dealt two cards, one face up and one face down. The aim of the game is to draw cards totalling 21 or as close as possible to 21, without going bust (over 21).
When you are playing 7 Handed Blackjack (European), the aim is to beat the dealers hand. If you have a Blackjack (Ace and 10) then you win automatically regardless of the dealers hand. If your first two cards add up to 21 then you have a "natural" and again automatically win unless the dealer has a natural also. In all other cases, if your total is higher than the dealers then you win, if its lower then you lose.
The game is played with six decks of cards which are shuffled together before each game. Cards 2-10 are worth their face value, an Ace counts as 1 or 11 and a picture card (King, Queen or Jack) counts as 10.
To start the game each player must place an initial bet, by placing chips in the betting circle on the table in front of them. The minimum bet at most casinos is £1 but it can be higher at some places. The player to the dealers left starts the action and can either:
